A yummy little cake which is great for morning or afternoon tea. I did need to cook it for about 50 minutes on 160 fan forced. It’s still moist in the centre but the edges are a little bit dry so probably take it out even if the skewer has a bit of raw on it because it will keep cooking and I think this cake is fine if it’s a bit bit as another review said French croissant texture in the middle but I’ll definitely cook it again
I was happily surprised - it looked beautiful and was delicious, not too sweet. Will make this again!
Super delicious:) ❤️
Loved it. Didn’t have flaked almonds, so sprinkled some desiccated coconut on top.
Delicious 🤩
Like the previous reviewer, had to add extra cooking time too. Recipe didn’t state what size tin to use. It is rather small quantity. Next time might experiment with self raising flour. It’s a dense. Not sure about this.
The centre is very moist and reminiscent of almond croissant filling. Not so sweet if you use fresh fruit instead of cannes, so in that case 75g of sugar feels just right for that 'healthy sweet' taste. I had to bake for longer as it was still raw after 45 min, but 10 min may have been a tad too long since the edges got a bit dry. Really easy recipe to make, though. I believe that any fruit would work well on top, as long as they're not too heavy (or in a too thick layer)
quick and tasty
Really good I started the recipe so substituting with peaches instead of pear!
Very tasty, reduced sugar to 60g also served with a little cream
Nice and light , sweet but not sickly
Love it!
Love this, as did the whole family!
5 star bake. So easy to make. Not too sweet. Kids liked it too. I put 60g sugar in. May even put less in next time. Thanks DK!
