Gather your ingredients.

Put the basil, walnuts and olive oil in a food processor with a big pinch of salt and pepper and pulse until combined, but not smooth. Set aside. If desired, add a squeeze of lemon juice to balance the flavours. You will have extra pesto leftover. Store in an airtight jar for 7 days in the fridge.
