Key points
As the year winds down it’s the perfect moment to look back at everything we cooked, learned, and experimented with in 2025.
This is your Doctor’s Kitchen 2025 Wrapped - flavour-packed look at the year we cooked together. We hope you enjoy!.
🔥 Top Recipe of the Year
Drumroll, please… our Recipe of the Year 2025 goes to Doctor’s Daily Bread! This simple, nourishing loaf captured the hearts (and ovens) of our community. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or just a comforting slice straight from the toaster, it’s no surprise this recipe rose to the recipe of the year.
We’ll be honest, it was a close call with the other bread recipes - explore recipes to add to your repertoire for 2026.
❤️ Most Loved Recipe
When it comes to dishes that combine flavour, nutrition, and simplicity, our Aubergine & Cumin-Crusted Fish Traybake takes the crown as the community’s most loved (and favourited in our App) recipe of 2025. The delicate, spiced crust pairs beautifully with tender fish and roasted aubergine, making it a dinner that feels special without the fuss.
Whether you’re cooking for the family, prepping a quick weeknight meal, or impressing friends, this traybake has something for everyone.
🍽️ Most Cooked Recipe
Easy Overnight Oats earned the title of 2025’s most cooked recipe, helping thousands of our community members start their day off right.
Versatile, simple to prepare, and endlessly customisable with your favourite toppings, it’s no wonder these overnight oats became the recipe our community had added to their arsenal.
🎥 Most-Watched Video
2025’s most-watched video was High Protein, Gut-Friendly Wraps, and for good reason. Dr Rupy explains why he avoids supermarket wraps, breaking down the processed ingredients and additives that are often hidden in store-bought options.
The video goes beyond just “what not to eat.” You’ll learn the science behind wraps, discover their nutritional profile, and see how simple it can be to make healthier alternatives at home. Our wrap section on the app is also growing.
📚 Topic of 2025
The topic that stood out this year in our community’s curiosity and search habits was protein. No doubt that protein plays a key role in a healthy, balanced diet. It helps with metabolic health, stable energy levels, keeping hunger at bay and supports healthy hormone production. In a nutshell, it’s central to how our bodies function every day.
This hot topic even has a dedicated book written about it, released earlier this year called “Healthy High Protein”. It was also covered in multiple podcasts, like this one from March, where Dr Rupy discussed:
- Are we really getting enough protein in our diets?
- Does protein have to come from meat?
- How does protein work with fibre to support gut health?
- Why starting the day with a protein‑rich meal can make a real difference?
It also offers practical guidance, like aiming for meaningful protein at every meal and choosing whole, nutritious sources that support gut health and reduce inflammation, a perspective that helped shape many of our recipes and nutritional principles this year.
🌾 Ingredient That Defined 2025
If there was an unsung hero of 2025’s healthy cooking scene, it was psyllium husk - a humble but powerful source of fibre that shot into the spotlight as more people looked for natural, gut‑friendly foods.
So what makes psyllium husk so popular? It’s rich in soluble fibre that forms a gentle gel in the digestive tract, helping to:
- Support regular bowel movements and gut comfort
- Promote feelings of fullness between meals
- Contribute to balanced blood sugar and cholesterol levels
That’s why psyllium husk showed up in baked goods like our Doctor’s Daily Bread, breakfast boosts, smoothies, and more. Read more about the benefit of psyllium husk.
Dr Rupy looks ahead into 2026
"It’s such a joy to have a community of delightful, health-conscious cooks of all ages and abilities who are interested in what food can do for them and how it can protect our health and enhance our lives.I came to this realisation the hard way.
Reversing my own heart condition through nutritional medicine showed me just how powerful what we put on our plates can be. Food helps us feel better, and it brings delight and warmth. This is exactly what I want to continue encouraging you to do into 2026 and beyond.
Our mission is to make healthy eating that little bit easier, so you can reap the benefits of good nutrition and enjoy a fulfilling, happy, energetic life for as long as possible.
That’s why we’ll continue bringing fresh recipe inspiration to your kitchen each week, building smart meal-planning tools to create effortless consistency in your routines, and enabling you to easily track your progress.
These small habits make a big difference. And my job is to help you maintain those habits—while enjoying delicious, flavourful meals along the way."
